Dear Community,
We want to inform you of a temporary pause of our Advocacy & Empowerment Program at the Domestic Violence Resource Center. This pause will only affect advocacy services provided at the Family Justice Center of Washington County and will not impact our Counseling Services or Housing Services programs.
DVRC has recently undergone staffing changes in our Advocacy & Empowerment Program. Pausing services will allow us to hire and train advocates, revamp policies and procedures, and ensure that service delivery can resume smoothly.
This decision was not made lightly, and we know that this will have an immediate impact on those we serve. We recognize and understand the vital role DVRC plays in supporting the community and ask for patience and understanding during this time as we work towards creating a stronger and more effective Advocacy & Empowerment Program.
Please note the following changes:
1/21/25-2/14/25: VIRTUAL COURT AND CONTESTED HEARINGS AVAILABLE TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS
Washington County Family Law Facilitators will be available on-site at the FJC on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to assist with filings. FJC staff will assist with virtual court and contested hearings on these days.
Additionally, restraining order packets will be available for pick up any time at the FJC. Packets picked up Monday, Wednesday, or Friday will need to be completed by the survivor and brought to the Washington County Courthouse for filing.
2/3/25: LIMITED ADVOCACY SERVICES RESUME
On Monday, February 3, 2025, we will begin resuming limited advocacy services at the FJC. Advocates will be available to support survivors with safety planning, resource referrals, lease breaks, and client financial assistance.
IF YOU ARE A SURVIVOR IN NEED OF SUPPORT OR A COMMUNITY PARTNER AND NEED TO MAKE A REFERRAL:
